The Dolços Alemany 1912 pastry shop in Amposta has successfully retained the prestigious Fava de Cacau Sant Vicenç dels Horts 2026 award, remaining for the second consecutive year among the top 50 in Catalonia.

The pastry shop in Amposta, which boasts over a hundred years of history, first received the recognition in 2025, becoming the first establishment in the Montsià region to receive the Fava de Cacau. This award highlights quality service and product excellence.

"We were clear that we wanted to continue offering the traditional products made by the former pastry chef, but little by little we have introduced everything I have learned and studied to broaden the range and offer more innovation."

Ivan Prats · Pastry Chef and Co-owner
The current managers, Ivan Prats and Jon Iñurrategui, who took over the business four years ago, emphasize that the award is a recognition of daily work and the effort of the entire team. In the Terres de l'Ebre region, four pastry shops hold this recognition: Dolços Alemany 1912, Peralta Pastissers in Tortosa (renewing it for the fifth consecutive year since 2021), Pastisseria Larrosa in Flix (since 2022), and Pastisseria Bahia in l'Ampolla (for the seventh consecutive year).
The Fava de Cacau award is granted by an anonymous and independent jury that visits the establishments at different times of the year. The evaluations consider the presentation of the shop, the presentation of individual products and desserts, customer service, and, finally, the tasting.
