The Amposta council will debate this Monday a long-term credit operation of €3,547,000 intended to finance municipal investments worth nearly €8 million.

The Amposta City Council will bring for approval at its ordinary plenary session this Monday, June 29th, a long-term credit operation for the amount of €3,547,000. This operation will allow for the execution of projects valued at approximately €8 million, thanks to the incorporation of municipal surplus and funding obtained through subsidies.
Initially, the municipal budget foresaw a credit of 4 million euros, but the incorporation of 1.2 million euros from the surplus has allowed for a reduction in the loan amount and an increase in planned investments to 4.8 million euros of own resources. The operation will be divided into two lots to encourage competition among financial entities, in a context where the municipal debt level stands at 36%, significantly lower than the 64% of the previous governing team.
Among the planned actions, an investment of €1,369,000 for the improvement of streets and public roads stands out, which will include a significant resurfacing campaign. A second block of investments includes actions in green spaces, educational centers, sports facilities, and security cameras. Improvements to the municipal animal shelter (€200,000) will also begin, as well as the initial phases of the Neighborhood Plan, with a subsidy of 15 million euros for an investment program valued at 25 million over the next eight years.
The financing model promoted by the City Council will allow for the multiplication of investment capacity, adding the 4.8 million euros from the loan and surplus with approximately 3 million euros in associated subsidies, placing the total volume of actions around 8 million euros.
The plenary will also debate a credit modification of €102,000, of which 26,000 will be allocated to complete the resurfacing works on Avenida Santa Bárbara, a global project of nearly 2 million euros, to address the increase in material costs.
In the political sphere, motions of support for the Terres de l'Ebre tram-train project, proposed by the municipal group of Esquerra d'Amposta, and for the improvement of the bicycle lane on the Val de Zafán greenway, presented by Junts per Amposta, will be submitted.
