The 112 emergency telephone received at least 250 calls and the Bombers de la Generalitat handled 139 alerts during the heavy rain and snow episode recorded this Saturday in Catalonia, mainly due to traffic incidents and flooding.

The incidents, recorded between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, were mostly related to obstacles on roads, presence of snow or ice, and basement flooding. The Fire Department primarily responded to landslides and water accumulation, totaling 139 services.
The largest concentration of calls occurred in the regions of Camp de Tarragona (40) and Ponent (42). They were followed by the southern metropolitan region (23), the northern region (19), and Central Catalonia (14). Notably, no alerts were registered in the Girona counties.
Regarding precipitation, the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya recorded the maximum accumulation in Constantí (Tarragonès), with 85.2 liters per square meter. Other areas with significant rainfall included Blancafort (Conca de Barberà), with 74.4, and Vilanova de Meià (Noguera), with 71.8.
The snow affected about twenty roads, requiring the use of snow chains in several areas in the north of the country. In the Pallars Sobirà county, chains were mandatory on the C-13, the C-147 in Esterri d'Àneu, the C-28z, the L-504 from Llavorsí to Tavascan, and the L-510 between Tírvia and Àreu. The Port de la Bonaigua (C-28) was also affected, and the BV-4024 at Coll de Pal was closed.
