Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested two men in Tivissa (Ribera d'Ebre) for their alleged involvement in an extensive marijuana plantation discovered in a wooded area.

The Catalan police have dismantled a significant infrastructure dedicated to marijuana cultivation in a wooded area near a farmhouse in Tivissa. The investigation, which utilized aerial means and cartographic tools, led to the discovery of eight greenhouses covering approximately 10,000 square meters.
During the operation, carried out on July 1st, 1,780 marijuana plants in an advanced flowering stage were seized. The plantation featured a complex irrigation system, including a water tank and over 350 meters of hoses, as well as an electric generator to power the extraction pump.
Fertilizers, substrates, phytosanitary products, and other equipment necessary for the intensive maintenance of the cultivation were also found at the site. The estimated production capacity was around 890 kilograms of drug, suggesting a primary destination for trafficking.
Two men, aged 21 and 61, who were on the property performing maintenance tasks, were arrested. They were brought before the duty investigating court in Falset on July 2nd.
