The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested three men, aged between 49 and 57, in Lleida on Saturday, as alleged perpetrators of a vehicle break-in, caught in the act thanks to a witness's alert.

The police intervention took place on Saturday at noon, after a witness alerted 112 about three individuals forcing open a vehicle parked at the Rectorate of Lleida parking lot. Patrols from the Citizen Security Unit quickly responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers found the three men surrounding the vehicle, with one of them manipulating the driver's door with a metal rod. The Mossos identified two of the detainees as repeat offenders, with forty and thirty-seven prior arrests respectively, while the third, although without recent antecedents, had about thirty from previous years.
During the search, officers confiscated, in addition to the metal rod, a dozen screwdrivers allegedly used to force open vehicles. Given the evidence and witness confirmation, the three individuals were arrested for an alleged crime of robbery with force inside a vehicle.
The detainees will be brought before the Investigating Court on duty in Lleida in the coming days.
