Nearly 90 ESO and Baccalaureate students from Institut Escola Magraners and INS Samuel Gili i Gaya in Lleida have joined the Mapadeball program for the first time, culminating in a public performance on April 16.

The Mapadeball program, an artistic and educational initiative that brings contemporary dance closer to secondary schools, has premiered in Lleida with the participation of nearly 90 ESO and Baccalaureate students. The schools involved in this first edition are the Institut Escola Magraners and the INS Samuel Gili i Gaya.
This marks the first time that the capital of Segrià has joined this project, which this year is being developed in schools across eleven Catalan municipalities. The program promotes values such as participation, inclusion, and cooperative work, and is supported by the Lleida City Council (Ajuntament de Lleida).
The students are working on the stage proposal titled 'Other Perspectives', created by choreographers Claudia Moreso and Noemí Ventura. The creative process includes guidance from the local Lleida artist Sandra Macià and the active involvement of the teaching staff.
The process, which combines classroom work and rehearsals at the theater, will culminate in a public showcase on April 16, at 8 p.m., at the Teatre de la Llotja. Access to the performance will be free.
The Mapadeball project is part of the II Dance Promotion Plan 2023-2026 (II Pla d’Impuls de la Dansa) led by the Departament de Cultura. It is spearheaded by the Mercat de les Flors and Xarxa Transversal, with coordination provided by AGITART COOP.
