The Avant train scheduled for 7:05 AM covering the route between Lleida and Barcelona suffered a delay of over two hours last Monday due to a technical incident at the Can Tunis workshop.

The breakdown prevented the train from reaching the capital of Segrià. Renfe had to send a replacement train from Camp de Tarragona, which did not enter the Lleida-Pirineus station until 09:18 AM. This resulted in passengers arriving at Barcelona-Sants at 10:20 AM.
The company explained that attempts were made to reallocate the maximum number of passengers onto other high-speed trains, but the high occupancy on Monday morning complicated the management. Users have strongly criticized the lack of foresight and service management, recalling that three similar breakdowns occurred last October.

The Catalonia Avant Users Platform is demanding a downward review of the new subscription prices to reverse the hidden increases they claim Renfe is concealing.

This situation adds to existing complaints regarding pricing policy. The Catalonia Avant Users Platform is calling for a downward review of the new transport tickets, the Passi Via and the Abonament 10-30, which came into effect on January 1 and replace the old Targetes Plus.
Users report that the new ten-journey passes involve increases exceeding 20%. For instance, the journey between Lleida and Barcelona goes from costing 6.4 euros (with the Targeta Plus 10) to 7.8 euros (with the Abonament 10-30).
