The Institut Joan Solà in Torrefarrera participated in the Departament de Cultura initiative 'The Eyes of History', allowing first and second-year ESO students to explore Catalan monuments through virtual reality.

Students from the Institut Joan Solà in Torrefarrera recently took part in the educational experience The Eyes of History. An immersive look at Catalan cultural heritage. This initiative by the Departament de Cultura aims to integrate knowledge of Catalonia's cultural heritage into the secondary school curriculum.
First-year ESO students had the opportunity to virtually discover the Roca dels Moros del Cogul Rock Art Site, while second-year students explored the Cartoixa d’Escala Dei Charterhouse. These recreations are part of the learning situations offered by the project, covering chronologies from prehistory up to the 19th century.

The didactic experience aims to bring heritage closer to students using accessible and engaging language, putting technology at the service of content.

For the 2025-26 academic year, more than 800 students from five institutes in the Lleida area, including centers in Alcarràs, Torrefarrera, Seròs, Bellpuig, and Cervera, are expected to discover Catalan monuments through this free educational proposal that combines classroom work and virtual reality. Since its deployment, the initiative has involved nearly 6,000 students and 48 centers across Catalonia.
