The ordinary municipal plenary session, held this Wednesday, October 28, also gave the green light to the creation of the Department of Catalan Language, aiming to promote and coordinate municipal policies for the fostering and normalization of Catalan. This initiative follows the Local Plan for Language 'Living in Catalan' launched in June 2025.
An agreement has been approved with the University of Girona and the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia to continue the Chair of Water, Nature and Wellbeing until 2030, which focuses on knowledge generation about the natural heritage of the Guilleries region.
The adhesion to the Regional Pact for the Promotion of the Social and Solidarity Economy of La Selva, 'La Selva Compromesa', has also been agreed upon, along with a collaboration agreement with the Consell Comarcal de la Selva for work experience actions within the 'Treball i Formació' program.
In terms of citizen security, an agreement has been approved with the Department of the Interior and Public Security of the Generalitat de Catalunya to connect the Local Police to police information systems, facilitating inquiries related to individuals and vehicles, processing relevant diligences, and handling reports at the station.
Regarding the public use of rural areas, an agreement has been reached with Aguas Danone, S.A., to regulate the use of the Can Calabrés parking area and the start of the Sant Miquel de les Formigues route.
In the area of services for people, the extension of the agreement with the Department of Social Rights and Inclusion of the Generalitat de Catalunya for the assisted residence and day center service for dependent elderly people in Sant Hilari has been approved. An agreement with the Institut Escola Sant Hilari regulating the social use of the educational center's facilities has also been ratified.
The council has supported the manifesto for the Millennium of the Assemblies of Peace and Truce (1027-2027), promoted by the Parliament of Catalonia, reaffirming the municipal commitment to a culture of peace.
The update of the Forest Fire Prevention Plan for Sant Hilari Sacalm has been approved, with a validity of six years, until 2032.
Finally, the provisional approval of modifications to municipal tax ordinances for 2027 has been made, with increases linked to the CPI to ensure service quality. A motion to improve the drainage network and prevent floods in the municipality has also been agreed upon, including a comprehensive technical study.
