The severe crisis facing Nàstic de Tarragona, currently in the final stretch of the championship to avoid relegation, has led to a confrontation between fans and the squad. Following a 2-0 defeat against Tarazona last Sunday, unknown individuals broke into the club's facilities and damaged the footballers' cars.
The Mossos d'Esquadra have launched an investigation to identify those responsible for these acts. According to initial reports, the tires of nine vehicles belonging to players and coaching staff were found punctured. Those affected discovered the damage upon arriving at the Nou Estadi Costa Daurada around 11:00 PM on Sunday to collect their cars.
“"We assume and understand the criticism, but we reject any display of violence, as this is a line that should not be crossed in any area of society."
The club has "firmly condemned the acts of vandalism" through a statement, also assuring that those affected have reported the incidents to the authorities. Currently, Nàstic is in relegation positions to Segunda Federación, just two points from safety, with two matches remaining in Group 2 of Primera Federación.
The club's statement emphasizes its awareness of the sporting situation and respect for criticism, but insists on zero tolerance for violence. Looking ahead to the upcoming matches, Nàstic calls for unity and mutual support to keep their chances of staying in the division alive, starting with Saturday's match against CE Europa at the Nou Estadi Costa Daurada.
