Civil Protection activated the Inuncat and Neucat plans this Saturday following the arrival of a rain and snow storm that recorded over 60 liters in the Camp de Tarragona region.

The storm entered the west of Catalonia strongly during Saturday morning, accumulating significant records in the Camp de Tarragona. At 9:00 a.m., the Meteorological Service highlighted 63.4 liters fallen in Constantí (with 21.1 liters in just 30 minutes), 62.2 liters in Montblanc, and 49.2 liters in the city of Tarragona.
The snow, forecast above 1,000 meters, has forced the Catalan Traffic Service (SCT) to require the use of chains on several roads in the Pyrenees. Affected routes include the N-260 at the Creu de Perves pass, the BV-4031 at the Creueta pass, and the C-142b accessing the Pla de Beret.

Civil Protection calls for prudence, urging the public to check weather forecasts and the state of the road network before traveling.

The Meteorological Service of Catalonia (SMC) has increased the probability that rain accumulation will exceed the 100-liter threshold in 24 hours in a dozen regions, including Alta Ribagorça, Pallars Jussà, and areas of Camp de Tarragona (Conca de Barberà, Priorat, Alt Camp, and Baix Camp).
In addition to rain and snow, significant waves are expected starting Saturday evening in the Alt Empordà, with waves exceeding 2.5 meters persisting throughout Sunday. The weather episode is expected to intensify on Tuesday and last until Wednesday.
