The exhibition, curated by Quimera Entertainment Company, is open at Espai Ermengol until March 26. It documents the evolution of an event that started in 2016 with 2,500 visitors and has expanded to occupy 18 buildings across the Alt Urgell capital.
“"It is a festival for everyone and for the Town Council; regardless of the municipal government, we are clear that La Seu is the best place for a board game festival."
Key milestones featured include the Catalonia Awards established in 2019 and the hosting of the Tabula Awards. The festival is also noted for its social commitment, offering sensory-friendly zones and adapted games for the visually impaired.
Following this retrospective, a second exhibition will open on March 27 dedicated to Elizabeth Magie. Festival co-director Pablo Giménez noted that this upcoming display will highlight the true creator of the game Monopoly.
