The activity, organized by the gòTIC Ajuntament de Tàrrega and the Pla Educatiu d’Entorn, is led by the digital social educator Ramon Oromí. The main goal is to foster dialogue and family consensus for the daily use of technology, avoiding arbitrary decisions and promoting shared negotiation.
“"It is still a learning space where we reinforce skills such as negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution."
The family digital plan is structured around four key areas: temporality, spaces, content, and relationships. Regarding temporality, it defines when and for how long screens are used, differentiating between the school year and holidays.
Oromí recalled the recommendations to avoid digital exposure for children aged 0 to 6 years, except for shared uses with educational value. After this age, use should be progressive and always accompanied until the age of 12. He also stressed the importance of using devices in common areas of the home, not in private spaces, and supervising who minors interact with.
“"With these rules, we also prepare them to be good digital citizens, respectful and aware of the values they transmit."
The workshops, which began with an attendance of over twenty families, will continue during February. The second part will focus on parental supervision and control tools, as well as models of family digital contracts, which are especially useful during adolescence for managing responsibilities and consequences.
