Centre d’Esports Sabadell faces the possibility this Friday of achieving its fifth promotion of the 21st century to Primera Federación, hosting Zamora at the Nova Creu Alta stadium with the aim of reversing the first-leg deficit.

Centre d’Esports Sabadell has the opportunity to celebrate its fifth promotion of the 21st century this Friday, when they face Zamora at home at 9 PM. A massive attendance and an intense atmosphere are expected to help overturn the tie, following the 1-0 defeat suffered at the Ruta de la Plata.
The club's most recent promotions occurred in Mieres in 2007, Eibar in 2011, Marbella in 2020, and Murcia in 2025. To find similar celebrations at the Nova Creu Alta, one must look back to the last century: May 18, 1986, with promotion to the First Division against Atlético Madrileño (2-0), and at the end of the 93-94 season, when promotion to Segunda B was secured against Crevillente (2-1).
The 2024/25 season was a true rollercoaster for Sabadell, which staged a strong league finish to qualify for the Primera Federación promotion play-offs. After a critical moment with a 0-4 home defeat against Sant Andreu, which brought them dangerously close to relegation, a narrow victory in Olot marked a turning point. From there, the team strung together seven wins in nine matches, building good momentum for the knockout stages.
Statistics support Sabadell's capability in decisive moments: they have achieved four promotions in their last five play-off appearances. The only exception was in 2008, due to a phantom goal in Irún.
In the first round of the 2025 play-offs, Sabadell faced Eibar's reserve team, the same opponent as in the 2011 promotion. After a 1-1 draw in the second leg, a late goal by Peque Polo allowed them to overcome the tie.
In the final, the opponent was UCAM Murcia. At home, nearly 10,000 fans witnessed a 2-1 victory, with goals from Rubén Martínez and Miguelete. In the return leg, at the old Condomina stadium, the team secured promotion with a display of tactical discipline (0-0), featuring a notable performance from young Javi Morcillo.
The final result in Murcia sparked joy among the travelling fans and the hundreds of Sabadell residents who followed the match on the giant screen in Plaça de l'Argub. The following day, a parade brought the players to the City Hall, celebrating their return to the league after a season in the 'desert'. This success marked the beginning of a new project for the current Sabadell team under Ferran Costa.
