The 'diables' group Les Fures i Diables de Cerdanyola has embarked on a new phase with the renewal of its executive board, aiming to promote tradition with fresh proposals and increased visibility in the municipality.

This renewal seeks to keep the flame of popular culture alive, combining fire spectacles with the recovery of the roots of the Ball de Diables. The new leaders, with extensive experience within the organization, approach this season with enthusiasm and the intention of strengthening the group's presence in local festivities.
The members of the new board have grown within the group, holding various positions since childhood. This experience has allowed them to thoroughly understand the organization's operations and needs. The decision to assume the roles of president and head of the group stems from a deep affection for the tradition and the city of Cerdanyola, as well as a desire to prevent the group's dissolution due to lack of leadership.
Looking ahead to the Festa Major, the group is preparing with great enthusiasm, as it will be their first performance under the new leadership. Additionally, this year they will participate in the 'barraques' (festival stalls), an activity that requires extra effort. The leaders emphasize the importance of the Sant Martí festival for the group, considering it their patronal celebration, while Roser de Maig is perceived as a smaller festival.

"We don't want to lose the fire show, but we want the people to know where the devil culture and its roots come from."

The group seeks greater visibility in the municipality and increased support from the City Council, especially to cover the economic costs of maintaining the traditional style of the Ball de Diables, which has been very well received by residents and has helped promote the group outside of Cerdanyola. This style, which differs from the more widespread one in Vallès, aims to revive the "ball parlat" (spoken dance) and the historical representation of the struggle between good and evil.
Currently, Les Fures i Diables de Cerdanyola have two fire beasts: the Puput Diabòlica, the oldest and largest, and the Boc Manyut, a more recent and easier-to-move figure. Although the Puput requires more resources to appear, both will participate in the Cercavila de les bèsties de foc during Roser de Maig. The group emphasizes that in 'correfocs' (fire runs), the devils are the protagonists, and the beasts have their place in other types of events.
