A new pedestrian crossing with traffic lights will soon connect the La Cogullada and Vista Alegre neighborhoods in Terrassa, enhancing safety and road connectivity thanks to an initiative funded by the Diputació de Barcelona.

The neighborhoods of La Cogullada and Vista Alegre in Terrassa will soon be more connected with the installation of a new pedestrian crossing with traffic lights on the C-243c, known as Martorell road, near Cuba street. This project addresses a long-standing demand from the Vista Alegre Neighborhood Association for a safe crossing point.
The Terrassa City Council, through Mayor Jordi Ballart, has confirmed that the Diputació de Barcelona, which manages the road, will undertake the construction. Ballart emphasized that this is a "necessary work that will improve the safety and connection of Vista Alegre with the city center." The construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 29.
The new pedestrian crossing will be regulated by a push-button activated traffic light. Additionally, a stop for bus line 12 will be installed at this location once the works are completed. A section of sidewalk will also be built to extend the existing pedestrian route, connecting the underpass of the C-16 highway with the Vista Alegre neighborhood.
The demand for a safe and accessible sidewalk on Martorell road was not exclusive to Vista Alegre; it was also raised by residents of La Cogullada. They had highlighted the dangers of walking on the asphalt, especially at night, and lamented the poor condition of the makeshift path they were using.
