The Mossos d'Esquadra dismantled a plantation of 313 marijuana plants on the ground floor of an apartment building on the Avinguda del Mediterrani in Ripollet, arresting two men in January 2026.

The investigation began in December 2025 when the Catalan police became aware of the possible existence of an illegal crop. After gathering the necessary evidence, officers proceeded to search the premises on Tuesday, January 13, where they found the 313 cannabis plants.
As is common in these types of cases, those responsible for the plantation had not contracted any electricity supply but had connected fraudulently to the general network. The police highlighted the danger of this infrastructure, as it posed a serious fire risk that could affect the other residents of the building.

Regarding the economic impact, the company estimates that the fraud exceeded 12,000 euros.

The operation culminated in the arrest of two men, aged 48 and 46, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of drug trafficking and electricity fraud. The Mossos d'Esquadra confirmed that both detainees were released after making a statement at the police station.
