Three high school students from Maristes de Rubí school and l'Estatut institute dedicated their research projects to evaluating the impact and effectiveness of the Llegim el riu citizen science initiative.

Student Lucía Panzano, from Maristes de Rubí school, presented the paper Analysis of a fluvial ecosystem through citizen science. Is it really effective?, where she compared data obtained in the field at the Riera de Rubí with laboratory analyses to determine the real contribution of citizen science to awareness.
Meanwhile, students Alba Mañas and Sara El Outmani, from l'Estatut institute, focused on how the health of fluvial ecosystems can be measured through the observation of macroinvertebrates, highlighting the key role of citizen participation.

Citizen participation plays a key role in the scientific research process, highlighting the essential function of libraries as spaces committed to sustainability.

Their project, Citizen Science in Rubí: Llegim el riu, emphasized the essential function of libraries as spaces for meeting, learning, and commitment to sustainability and the environment, creating an interactive map of participating libraries and an informative video.
The Llegim el riu project continues to strengthen the connection between science, territory, and citizenship, inviting the population to better understand their local environment in order to collectively protect and care for it.
