The Coordinadora de Música Tradicional de Vilafranca has announced the creation of the D.O. Gralla festival, set to take place in Vilafranca del Penedès from April 10th to 19th.

This new initiative aims to expand the long-standing Dia del Graller into a more diverse celebration of folk music and popular culture. The festival will serve as a meeting point for musicians and luthiers, focusing on the 'gralla' (a traditional reed instrument) and folk percussion across the Alt Penedès region.
The program features a variety of events, including a folk dance workshop on April 10th and a special concert by the OMAC at the Auditori de Vilafranca on April 12th. Other highlights include the Toc de Balcons street performance and a national gathering of traditional music schools.
The festival will conclude on April 19th with the 32nd edition of the Dia del Graller. This final day will feature parades, a performance by the Castellers de Vilafranca human tower group, and a specialized instrument makers' fair at Plaça Sant Joan.
