The Pla de Bages Designation of Origin (DO) strengthened its international presence at the Barcelona Wine Week 2026 and the Hotel Wine Fest, seeking new contacts and boosting wine exports.

The DO Pla de Bages participated in the Barcelona Wine Week 2026, the benchmark event for quality wine, which closed its most international edition with nearly 26,000 attendees. The main goal was to give visibility to the territory's identity, native varieties, and the collective project of its wineries.
Representatives from wineries such as Collbaix and Eixibis highlighted the importance of the event for global outreach. Josep Maria Claret, from Collbaix winery, stressed that the fair is “a great opportunity for us to open up to the world,” while Joan Soler, from Eixibis, added that it provides learning and allows them to discover wonderful projects.

"Our participation in Barcelona Wine Week and the Hotel Wine Fest allows us to showcase the quality and uniqueness of Pla de Bages wines to professionals, clients, and wine lovers. It is a unique opportunity to establish contacts and strengthen the international presence of our territory."

Carles Playà · President of the DO Pla de Bages
The presence at the fair helped consolidate the DO Pla de Bages as a denomination with its own personality, establishing links with professionals, prescribers, and buyers. This commitment to quality and sustainability was key to connecting with different types of audiences, including export clients and future local clients, as indicated by Cristian from Celler Abadal.
In addition to wine promotion, a wine tourism workshop for the Ruta del Vi del Pla de Bages was held, allowing attendees to learn firsthand about the tourism projects and experiences offered by the territory. The promotion was complemented by participation in the Hotel Wine Fest, which concluded its third edition.
