The presence of these two Reus workshops solidifies the city's prominent role in Catalan pastry making. Confiteria Padreny has been distinguished for the seventh consecutive year, highlighting its long, century-old trajectory. Meanwhile, Xocosave, with establishments in Reus and Riudoms, returns to the sector's elite thanks to its innovative approach, especially valued for its work with chocolate.
In total, nine pastry shops from the Tarragona region have entered the Catalan Top 50. Within this group, Cal Jan, from Torredembarra, stands out, having received the Fava d’Or 2026 as the best pastry shop in Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l’Ebre. This establishment is known for its extensive list of state and international awards, particularly in the panettone category.
The list of award winners in the territory is completed with eight more establishments, demonstrating the good moment the artisan pastry sector is experiencing in Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l’Ebre.
Other important recognitions include Dolços Alemany 1912, from Amposta, which received the award for the pastry shop with the greatest historical value for its family continuity since 1912. The rest of the awarded Tarragona establishments are Bahía (L’Ampolla), Larrosa (Flix), Peralta Pastissers (Tortosa), Rossana (Calafell), and L’Obrador (El Vendrell).
As a novelty this year, the awards incorporated the Fava d’Or de les Pastisseries, granted by a vote of the selected establishments themselves. This recognition resulted in a three-way tie between Morreig and Carrió (Barcelona) and L’Obrador (El Vendrell). The Fava de Cacau jury, coordinated by Marc Balaguer, is composed of independent professionals from the pastry and gastronomic journalism world.
