This public transport service is the most used by the inhabitants of the upper part of the neighborhood, and for this reason, it is the subject of numerous complaints. Users report that the service is deficient, especially during peak hours, which causes significant delays in getting to work or school.
“"We have to leave with a lot of anticipation because we are afraid that the bus will be broken down, that it won't arrive on time… We always have some incident that prevents us from getting off on time."
The reliance on the bus is crucial in a neighborhood with a high proportion of elderly people and where not all residents have private vehicles. The lack of transport alternatives and the distance to basic services make bus 182 indispensable for the daily lives of the residents.
“"Up here we have no shops, we have nothing. If the bus fails, we don't even buy bread. It is essential for us."
The main complaints focus on constant delays, frequent vehicle breakdowns, and a schedule that they consider insufficient. Residents attribute part of the problems to the age of the bus fleet. In case of a breakdown, especially on weekends with a frequency of 40 minutes, users are left without transport options.
Given this situation, the neighborhood of Torre Baró has decided to organize and has held a demonstration that ran along Passeig de Valldaura. Their demands include a reinforcement of the service, with a frequency of 15 minutes on weekdays and the maintenance of this frequency throughout the day, without the extension to 40 minutes from 9 PM.
The most prominent demand is the improvement of the service during weekends, where the current frequency is one bus every 40 minutes and Sunday service begins at 9:30 AM. Residents demand the presence of two vehicles on the line from Monday to Sunday and that the service starts earlier on Sundays to better adapt to the needs of the neighborhood.
