The intense rain and snowfall recorded this Saturday have caused at least 250 calls to the 112 emergency number and numerous traffic and flooding incidents throughout Catalonia.

From 08:00 to 18:00 hours on Saturday, the Bombers de la Generalitat (Fire Department) received 139 alerts, mainly due to landslides and water accumulation. The bulk of the 112 calls were concentrated in Camp de Tarragona (40) and Ponent (42), followed by the southern metropolitan region (23) and the northern (19).
According to data from the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya, the town of Constantí (in Tarragonès) accumulated the most rainfall, with 85.2 liters per square meter. Other points with significant rain were Blancafort (Conca de Barberà) with 74.4 liters, and Vilanova de Meià (Noguera) with 71.8 liters.
The snow affected about twenty roads, requiring the use of chains in several areas in the north of the country. In the Pallars Sobirà region, chains were necessary on the C-13, the C-147 (in Esterri d'Àneu), the C-28 (at the Port de la Bonaigua), the L-504 (from Llavorsí to Tavascan) and the L-510 (between Tírvia and Àreu).
Other affected roads include the BV-4031 (between Berguedà and Ripollès), the C-142b in Naut Aran (Vall d'Aran), the C-462 (from Solsonès to Alt Urgell) and the GI-400 in Alp (Cerdanya). Furthermore, the BV-4024 at Coll de Pal was completely closed to traffic.
