The Consell Comarcal del Solsonès has launched the “Més digitals” initiative to bring new technologies closer to the elderly population in the region. The main goal is to enhance their security and confidence in using common digital tools, thereby tackling the digital divide.
The training, which focuses specifically on the use of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, will be conducted in person. The municipalities hosting the sessions are Pinell, Torà, Llobera, Olius, and Sant Llorenç de Morunys, offering a total of 15 hours of practical and accessible content.
The main objective is to support those elderly people who already use digital technologies but need more confidence to make full use of their devices.
The course content is designed to be accessible, featuring a clear and practical structure. The first part covers the efficient use of email (account creation, contact management), while the second focuses on digital photography and internet browsing, including searching for information and saving pages of interest.
Finally, the program dedicates a crucial session to cybersecurity and good network practices, providing basic tools to avoid fraud and risks in the digital environment. With this commitment, the Consell Comarcal del Solsonès reaffirms its dedication to digital inclusion and lifelong learning.
