The Tarragona City Council has unveiled the 2026 Literary Spring, a four-month cultural festival dedicated to promoting reading and celebrating the 90th birthday of writer Olga Xirinacs.

Organized by the Casa de les Lletres, the program includes the re-edition of the book Zona marítima and a special tribute at the Tarragona Theatre on May 11. The initiative aims to bring literature to all citizens through accessible reading clubs and workshops.
A highlight of the festival is the educational project From Catalan Poetry to Urban Music, involving over 400 students from local high schools. The cycle will conclude on June 6 with the prestigious City of Tarragona Literary Awards ceremony.
