One of the most significant projects is the series 33 días, an Atresmedia production created by Carles Porta. Starring José Manuel Poga and Julián Villagrán, the show recreates a real-life prison break from 2001. The production used Tarragona's old prison as a primary set to depict the penitentiary environment.
In September 2024, Netflix filmed sequences for the French action series Néro in the Pla de la Seu area, utilizing the historic aesthetics of the old town. Additionally, the Port of Tarragona hosted a project for Amazon Prime Video inspired by the Blade Runner universe, showcasing the city's versatile industrial landscapes.
The city also served as a backdrop for the feature film Viaje al país de los blancos, set to premiere on June 26. These projects were coordinated by the Tarragona Film Office, which assists production teams with location scouting and municipal permits.
