The president of the regional body, Albert Palacín, pointed out that the budgeted amount is very similar to that of the previous year, with growth justified only by the three main projects to be executed in the region during the year.
“"This is a very similar amount to the previous year, which only grows due to the three most important projects this year."
The largest investment, totaling 370,000 euros, will be allocated to adapting a new premises in El Pont de Suert for the Social Resources area, allowing the relocation of staff currently operating from the council headquarters. The works for this new facility are expected to be completed this year.
The meat sector in Alta Ribagorça will receive a dual boost with two initiatives totaling 406,462.55 euros. Firstly, several improvements will be made to the municipal slaughterhouse in El Pont de Suert, including replacing the roof, redistributing the corrals, and installing a new cold storage room.
Additionally, a shared regional workshop (obrador) will be opened in Vilaller, a highly demanded facility that will allow local farmers and butchers to carry out maturation, cutting, filleting, packaging, and preservation processes prior to meat commercialization. The works for these two projects are expected to be finished by the end of October.
