The final sentence comes after the defendant admitted the facts this Wednesday following a plea agreement with the Prosecutor's Office and the private prosecution, who initially sought 38 years in prison. In addition to the prison term, he is imposed 8 years of supervised release and a 9,000 euro fine.
The man took advantage of family events to commit the assaults on the victims, who included his two daughters, their friends, and other relatives. The ruling also establishes the payment of 43,000 euros in compensation for the seven victims.
“"I conveyed to him that he had to accept it because he was facing many years in prison and the evidence was quite consolidated; there were many witnesses, medical reports, and, really, everything was going against us."
After the hearing, the Mossos d'Esquadra took the man to the Ponent penitentiary center, pending the resolution of his request for transfer to the Quatre Camins prison, as he currently resides in Barcelona. The defense highlighted that the agreement prevents the re-victimization of the girls, who did not have to testify again.
