The School White Sports (EBE) program, promoted by the Catalan Government, has started its 13th edition in Tavascan, benefiting nearly 2,700 primary students in the Pyrenees until March.

The initiative, coordinated by the departments of Sports and Education, aims to bring winter sports and their values to 2,636 students in 3rd and 4th grade from 64 educational centers. These centers belong to the regions of Alt Urgell, Alta Ribagorça, Berguedà, Cerdanya, Pallars Jussà, Pallars Sobirà, Ripollès, Solsonès, and the Val d'Aran.
The program, which will run until the end of March with the Snow Graduation days, offers sessions of alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowboarding. The EBE is integrated into the physical education curriculum during school hours and consists of 6 to 8 sessions during the second school term.

The other purpose is to educate through sport to respect, enjoy, coexist, love, and know our mountains.

Framed within the Strategic Plan for Winter Sports in Catalonia, the EBE seeks to promote the initiation and knowledge of winter sports, emphasizing education through sport and respect for the mountains. Since its inception in the 2013-14 school year, approximately 12,000 children from the Pyrenees have been introduced to this activity.
The success and continuity of the program have been internationally recognized with the Snowkidz Award, granted every two years by the International Ski Federation (FIS). The project collaborates with the Catalan Winter Sports Federation, the Pyrenean Sports Councils, and various ski resorts.
