Around 150 professionals from Tarragona and Catalonia gathered this Monday at firaReus to discuss the challenges facing the human resources sector during the Reus Talent Summit 2026 organized by Redessa.

The conference began with the speech by Cecilia Morillo, HR Director for Essity's EMEA Consumer Goods division, who emphasized the importance of company culture as a retention tool. According to Morillo, this culture must be “clear, communicated, and we must all believe in it.” Isabel Martínez, Regional Director for Magnera Corporation, agreed, pointing out that “culture is our DNA” and that selecting the right person is crucial during recruitment processes.

"People join an organization for the project and leave because of the boss."

Nadya Castolo, Training Manager at Louis Vuitton Retail, focused on learning as a “journey” and argued that companies must “celebrate curiosity and tolerate error,” promoting personalized self-learning through appropriate platforms. Meanwhile, Arménia Barrados, founder of People Consulting, identified three challenges for 2026: silent disengagement, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and resolving incompatibilities between the demands of people and companies.

Tiago Santos, community dynamizer at Sesame HR, closed the round of presentations by addressing the need to confront uncomfortable conversations to prevent talent loss. The event also featured the institutional presence of Josep Baiges and Manel Muñoz, councilors from the Reus City Council, who championed the city as a hub for innovation and stressed that “talent stays or leaves depending on how we treat people.”
