The figure of 9,741,627 euros, reached at the close of the day, continues to rise, as donations can be made until March 31, 2026. Under the slogan «Let's detect it, let's fix it» (Detectem-ho, arreglem-ho), this year's edition focused on prevention, early detection, and boosting cancer research.
This disease is one of the main causes of death in Catalonia, affecting one in two men and one in three women at some point in their lives. This reality has driven one of the editions with the most popular initiatives to raise funds.
In Alt Empordà, solidarity has been evident, with the official registration of 73 popular events. These range from a sold-out concert by Ataraxia at the El Jardí theater in Figueres, to the fashion show in Pontós, the solidarity lunch in Siurana, or the playback event in Torroella de Fluvià.
Other non-officially registered initiatives, such as the bingo (quina) held in Darnius, must also be added to this figure. Everything suggests that the final amount will exceed last year's figure, as the current collection is higher than that of 2024 at the closing day, and all pending donations still need to be tallied.
