Civil Protection sent an ES-Alert message to mobile phones in Montsià on Wednesday afternoon, warning of intense rainfall and recommending residents avoid unnecessary travel.

The warning was issued shortly after 5:15 PM this Wednesday, activating the emergency protocol due to the forecast of very heavy rainfall over the next two hours in the Montsià region. The message urges residents to exercise extreme caution.
Recommendations from Civil Protection include avoiding unnecessary travel and staying away from potentially flood-prone areas. Residents are also advised to move to the upper floors of buildings if water enters the premises and to call 112 only in case of a genuine emergency.
The heavy rainfall has already had direct consequences on the road network. According to the Catalan Traffic Service, the TP-3318 road, which connects Ulldecona and Alcanar, had to be closed in both directions due to flooding.
Furthermore, access to Alcanar via the N-340 road is also interrupted for the same reason. Authorities request maximum caution from drivers traveling through the area.
