The Lleida Provincial Council started emergency work this week on the LV-9047 road, near Gerb, to stabilize an embankment following a rock slide that occurred last Saturday.

The works, with an estimated budget of nearly 500,000 euros, focus on the stretch between PK 2+600 and PK 2+750, an area bordering a rocky massif up to 80 meters high.
The emergency action includes the stabilization of the affected slope, the replacement of the damaged dynamic barrier, and preventive interventions in other points of the hillside with risk of new landslides.

While the works are being executed, an alternative route has been enabled to guarantee circulation and reduce mobility disruptions between Balaguer and Camarasa.

According to the Provincial Council's forecasts, the road could reopen to traffic after one month, once the safety of the road is guaranteed. The complete finalization of the works is scheduled for approximately three months.
The Deputy for Technical Services, Cristina Morón, along with the area director, Ivan Sabaté, and the mayor of Os de Balaguer, Estefania Rufach, visited the area to supervise the start of the cleaning and stabilization tasks.
