The document, drafted by the Institut Català d’Energia (ICE), is part of Catalonia's territorial plan for renewable energy and identifies the Puigsagordi area as a potential site for the installation of wind turbines. This location spans the municipalities of Centelles and Balenyà.
However, the mayors of both municipalities have expressed their disagreement with the proposal, arguing that the area has limited wind potential due to the low frequency and intensity of the wind. This local opposition could be crucial during the objection process.
The plan establishes clear objectives for the Osona region, which must generate 119 MW of photovoltaic energy and 48.4 MW of wind energy by 2050. These goals involve occupying 0.8% of the regional soil for the production of these renewable energies.
The deadline for submitting objections to the plan will open starting in February and will last for three months. Objections must be presented with a regional vision, seeking territorial consensus on the implementation of energy infrastructure. A summary of the plan can be viewed here.
