The program, promoted by CaixaProinfància and active since 2007, focused on reducing the impact of inequality on the educational trajectories of minors. This work is carried out through a network of social entities in the Tarragona region and in coordination with public services.
Program data shows significant results in the educational field: 84.7% of the children served manage to graduate upon completing the ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education), a figure higher than the national average. Furthermore, the school dropout rate among participants is a low 3.5%.
The CaixaProinfància program has served a total of 20,402 minors belonging to 13,464 families across Catalonia, demonstrating its extensive territorial reach.
In the city of Tarragona, the program supported more than 250 families, many of whom face economic and social vulnerability. More than half of the participating families are single-parent households, and a significant portion of the parents are unemployed or have a low educational level.
For this reason, CaixaProinfància's action is not focused solely on children, but also works with the family environment to strengthen parental competencies and facilitate essential support resources for improving quality of life.
