The board of the Tarragona Gastronomy Academy (AGT) visited the headquarters of the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC) in Reus in January to learn about its global work promoting nuts, dried fruits, and healthy habits.

The meeting allowed AGT members to learn firsthand about the work of the INC, a non-profit international organization that promotes the consumption, research, and knowledge of nuts and dried fruits globally. Goretti Guasch, executive director of the INC and secretary general of the AGT board, led the visit to the headquarters in Baix Camp.

"The entity acts as a meeting point for the sector, bringing together producers, processors, traders, researchers, and institutions from all over the world."

Goretti Guasch · INC Executive Director
The INC stands out for producing scientific and nutritional studies that support the health benefits of these foods. Antón Pont, honorary president of the AGT and co-founder of the INC, explained that the organization drives research programs, compiles international market statistical data, and organizes highly relevant events, such as its annual congress.

"This meeting strengthens the links between gastronomy, health, and product, and opens the door to future collaborations to foster gastronomic culture and the value of quality products."

Ana Vilallonga · AGT President
The president of the AGT, Ana Vilallonga, emphasized the strategic value of having an international institution like the INC in the territory, projecting the area as a hub for agro-food knowledge and innovation. Taking advantage of the meeting, the academy's board approved the annual fees and planned restaurant visits for the first quarter of 2026, including the traditional calçotada at La Montoliva in Vilallonga del Camp, the Vermouth Yzaguirre winery, the Cambrils Hotel and Tourism School restaurant, and the Brichs restaurant in Falset.
